Tracy Smith
Head of School, Coral Springs

Tracy comes to Xceed Preparatory Academy with a wealth of educational experience in both brick and mortar and online settings. She has served as an Administrator, Academic Coach, Instructor, and Program Manager in both the public and private domains. After graduating from Florida State University in 2001, she embarked on a teaching career in Broward County, Florida. Ms. Smith instructed in both elementary and middle school, serving the communities of Coconut Creek and Parkland. Tracy was twice nominated for Teacher of the Year for her work with students in integrated classrooms with varying ability levels (2004, 2005). With a pivot into online education in 2006, Ms. Smith has been on the ground floor of virtual learning, piloting programs and enhancing online experiences for students. She tackled curricular writing, design, and review as well as teaching a variety of subject areas to students in both domestic and international forums. Ms. Smith began her administrative career in 2011, and as her desire to bring an overwhelmingly positive, academically rich, holistic educational experience to students, families, and staff grew, so did her administrative roles and duties. In addition to her academic career, Ms. Smith has spearheaded a nonprofit organization serving local, national, and international hospitals, furnishing them with toys that help foster patients’ recovery and happiness during their hospital stays.  Since 2016, the family-run nonprofit has received awards at both the state and county level for their continued service to the community. Tracy was awarded the Young Leadership Award in 2016.
