Xceed English Teacher Reflects on His First Year

“Just hearing, ‘good morning’, Mr. Lleo” makes my day,” said Juan Lleo, an English teacher at Xceed Preparatory Academy.

Lleo started teaching at the Weston campus in January 2022. Before this, he taught high school English at a charter school and spent time as a para-professional. He began his career in education after receiving his bachelor’s degree in English Literature and master’s in Education Law from Florida International University.

Aside from his love for language arts, Lleo enjoys his job because of the positive interactions he has. He loves working with students from all backgrounds and has found his fellow Xceed teachers to be helpful and supportive.

His biggest advice to prospective students and generally anyone is to fall in love with writing, to fall in love with reading and to just be a good person.

When he isn’t doing all of the above, Lleo, a self-proclaimed fitness-lover, enjoys being active. He has also been busy with his own studies, and will graduate this August with a Juris Master (JM) concentration in Education from Florida International University.
