Our Mission and Philosophy
At Xceed Preparatory Academy, our mission is to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where students are empowered to thrive academically and personally. We believe in flexibility, support, and individualized learning to help each student grow into a confident, capable individual.
Finding the right private school can be challenging, especially when a traditional high school, middle school or even an elementary school doesn’t meet a student’s unique needs. At Xceed Preparatory Academy, we offer a flexible, student-centered learning environment designed for those who need more control over their academic schedules.
Located just blocks from Las Olas Boulevard, our Fort Lauderdale campus provides students with real-world learning opportunities through internships, mentorship programs and extracurricular activities. With institutions like the NSU Art Museum, Museum of Discovery and Science and Broward Center for the Performing Arts nearby, students can engage in enriching educational experiences beyond the classroom.

Unlike other schools that follow a fixed timetable, Xceed prioritizes
your child’s one-of-a-kind learning pace. Students have the freedom to

Head of School
Meet our Head of School: Michael Rebimbas
Bringing more than 20 years of secondary and post-secondary education experience to Xceed, Michael Rebimbas serves as the first Head of School for our Fort Lauderdale campus.
Mr. Rebimbas began his career in education at Curry College in Massachusetts where he was the Assistant Dean of Student Success, developing and implementing programs fostering a sense of community and belonging amongst first-year students. He later served as Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Community Life at Benedict College in South Carolina, overseeing educational and social programming for resident students and creating a positive experience in the College’s Living/Learning Communities. He most recently served as Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs for Florida Education Institute, developing strategic plans and policies, overseeing daily operations of the campus and managing all aspects of student affairs.
Mr. Rebimbas also worked at Mavericks High of North Broward where he was the Dean of Students and Assistant Principal for several years, helping families become engaged with their children’s school and their academic life, while supporting enrollment and classroom activities. His other experience includes years as an Educational Clinical Supervisor and Vice President of Community Engagement and Development for the KidSafe Foundation.
A Supportive, Inclusive Community
Xceed students have plenty of activities to stay involved in the community. Families attend seasonal and annual events , such as spring festivals, Broadway shows, and athletic tournaments for a cause.
Many of our on-campus clubs are connected to service opportunities within the community, including the National Honor Society, Student Government Association, and World Cultures Club. Outside the school, Xceed students are tennis players, equestrians, artists, and performers — their personalized learning experience gives them the time and space to pursue distinct passions.

Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities
Effective July 1, 2022, the McKay Scholarship Program will join the Family Empowerment Scholarship Program under the Unique Abilities category. For information on the transition process, see McKay transition to FES: FAQs.
This branch of the Family Empowerment Scholarship Program is designed to offer families of students with disabilities, as young as 3 years of age, access to additional education options. Families may choose to enroll their student in another public school, or they may take the opportunity to receive a personal education savings account (ESA) for their student. With an ESA, parents receive a deposit of public funds into government-authorized savings accounts with restricted, but multiple, uses. An ESA can be used to fund not only items such as private school tuition and fees, but also online learning programs, private tutoring, community college costs, higher education expenses and other approved customized learning services and materials. Families apply and annually renew for participation in FES UA through one of the approved SFOs, which are responsible for determining eligibility, awarding and distributing funding to eligible student accounts, and approving eligible expenditures.
